Application of Lessons Learnt

Integration of 5 different companies formed a new company in Oman in 2011 i.e. Orpic. Since its inception, Orpic faced various serious (Tier-1 & 2) process safety incidents. Specially the incidents regarding Tank overfill and tank bottom plate corrosion raised alarm signals as potential risk of such events is very high.

We have seen in the past that similar incidents have destroyed not only the tanks, but whole facilities. To manage the risks of such events, various prevention stragtegies were adopted based on avilable standards, API and best industrial practices. This presentation explains the series of actions that were taken and reduced the risks levels of our tank farm from 'Very High' to 'Medium' as per our Risk Matrix.

Presentation will talk about lessons learnt from incidents and then adopted overfill prevention strategies, Inspection, Bottom Plate corrosion prevention strategies, maintenane and work procedures improvement.
