The quick and easy way to clear permissions is via RightsLink®, the Copyright Clearance Center’s online service.

You can obtain permission to reproduce or make copies of AIChE content, from both periodicals and books, for commercial or non-commercial purposes, by following these steps:

1. Locate the article or chapter, page, excerpt, abstract, image/photo/illustration, chart/graph/table figure, or any other media you wish to reuse.

2. To request permission to use material from CEP Magazine issues published after 1956, click here. To request permission to use material from CEP Magazine issues published between 1947-1956 click here. Please note: individual CEP articles may be copied from the magazine or downloaded from AIChE's Web site for personal use, provided a fee of $30 per article ($10 for members) is paid to the Copyright Clearance Center, 222 Rosewood Drive, Danvers, MA 01923.

3. You can make requests for material in the AIChE Journal, Biotechnology Progress, Environmental Progress & Sustainable Energy, and Process Safety Progress by following the instructions on the pages linked below.

4. To request permission to use material from books copyrighted by AIChE and/or CCPS, please note the ISBN number and click here.  

A Note to Authors: Authors who publish with AIChE retain a wide range of reproduction rights without requesting permission. Please refer to your Copyright Transfer Agreement or book contract. If you require a formal republication license, you may use RightsLink®.
