NFPA Combustible Dust Consensus Standards & Development of NFPA 660

Presented by: Chris Aiken, Cargill, Senior Director Process Safety (Member of NFPA Combustible Dust Correlating committee and NFPA 61: Standard for the Prevention of Fires and Dust Explosions in Agricultural and Food Processing Facilities)

This presentation is a general overview of the six NFPA combustible dusts consensus standards and an update of the NFPA initiative to consolidate these six standards into NFPA 660.  We will review the committee structure governing the six standards, evolution of the standards over the last decade, and development of NFPA 660.  The NFPA 660 update will include the process used for its development, how the standard is structured, status of development, and next steps.
