Craig Stegman
Craig Stegman, with over 40 years in the mining industry, currently serves as Managing Director Group Technical at Rio Tinto. He holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania and multiple degrees in geology and engineering. Throughout his global career, he has held leadership roles across copper, diamonds, and underground mining operations. Craig is widely recognized for driving underground mining safety, technical excellence, and innovation, and for embedding rigorous standards across Rio Tinto’s global sites.
Daniel Rajão
Senior Director of EHS Services – The Mosaic Company
Daniel Rajão is an accomplished chemical engineer with over 20 years of leadership experience in the mining and chemical sectors. He currently leads EHS Services at The Mosaic Company and has previously overseen major operations at Uberaba, Araxá, and Patrocínio. His background includes key roles at Vale, Norsk Hydro, Alcoa, and Imerys, where he focused on operations, industrial management, and continuous improvement. Daniel holds a Chemical Engineering degree from Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais and an MBA from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV).
Rafael Bittar
Executive Vice President and Chief Technical Officer – Vale
Vale’s Technical EVP and CTO brings over 20 years of global experience in engineering and mining. Since joining Vale in 2019 to lead its Geotechnical Department, he has made significant improvements to tailings and dam management. He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and Geotechnics from Ouro Preto Federal University and MBAs from Fundação Getulio Vargas and Dom Cabral Foundation. His career spans operations, consulting, and project leadership, with a strong focus on geotechnics, tailings risk management, and organizational culture change.
