This course provides chemical engineering students with a basic understanding of explosion hazards associated with materials commonly found in chemical processes.
After review of the course, the student should have an understanding of what questions to ask when participating in a process hazards analysis team to uncover the potential for explosions in their process.
Commonly used prevention and mitigation techniques are included.

Joshua Enszer is an Associate Professor in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Delaware. He earned his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan Technological University and his M.S. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame.
