AIChE’s Improving Gender Diversity and Inclusion

In order for you to be able to lead volunteers, or lead other people without positional power, you need to be able to interact with people who are different than you. The focus of this online course is improving male-female professional interactions. This online course explains the need for empathy to the types of barriers that gender diversity creates, the 5 types of cognitive biases that make gender inclusivity a challenge, the 8 gendered leadership traits important for gender-inclusive leaders, and a process to improve male-female professional interactions in light of the challenges to gender inclusivity.

  • Take a gender-inclusive leadership assessment based on the research of Dr. Valerie Patrick at Fulcrum Connection LLC to identify strengths and opportunities to develop a gender-inclusive approach to leadership
  • Appreciate the science-based challenges to gender inclusivity in professional settings and identify situations that call for new behaviors

  • 5 to 10 years of business experience or enough experience to have experienced the challenges of interacting in gender minority situations
