This course is designed to enable learners who want to use the DIERS software to determine emergency vent sizing to relief pressure in vessels by means of dynamic simulations. The course includes the description of key features of the program and hands-on exercises.
The course includes hands on exercises using the SuperChems for DIERS software. Course attendees must bring their own computers with the software loaded and ready for use. If you do not have access to the software yet, you can purchase on our SuperChems™ for DIERS webpage. Alternately, AIChE will provide a short-term complementary license for course attendees. Please inform DIERS@aiche.org at least one week before the course if you would like to obtain the complementary short-term license. The license needs to installed before arrival at the course venue. Students will also be provided with a pdf copy of all course notes and SuperChems™ working files.

This SC for DIERS training is designed to meet the needs of engineers responsible for modeling, designing, operating, and/or managing ERS. Some previous process engineering and ERS design exposure is needed to fully gain from this course.
Enio Kumpinsky is a Principal Consultant at ioMosaic. He has over 30 years of experience in product and process development, scale-up, plant operations and chemical-process safety. Knowledge of technologies includes phenol-formaldehyde resins, acrylate polymers, unsaturated polyester resins, ethylene oxide and propylene oxide polymers, polyether ketones and neoprene rubber. Enio worked at Du Pont for more than seven years and at Ashland Global for more than 28 years before joining ioMosaic.
John J. Hauser
John J. Hauser was the Principal Engineer and President of PROSAF Inc. until the company was sold to Danielle Mainiero-Cessna in 2021. In that role he has successfully helped clients for over 30 years in the fields of Emergency Relief System Design, process safety and safety instrumented systems. Now, he provides consulting assistance to PROSAF Inc.
