What is a Safe Discharge Location?

When it comes to emergency relief systems, what is meant by safe discharge?  How do you assess it and if the discharge location presents minimal risk?  Although required in some API standards, safe discharge from both an operational and compliance standpoint is not accurately defined within the industry.  This webinar examines the RAGAGEP requirements for safe discharge.  It will teach chemical engineers how to assess whether a discharge location from a process or emergency vent is safe.  Single and multiphase flow releases are considered where the discharged material is either flammable or toxic or both.

What You'll Learn:

  •  Gain an understanding of the RAGAGEP current requirements for a "safe discharge" and "safe discharge" location
  • Learn how to assess if discharge and the discharge location from a process or emergency vent are safe
  • Source term characteristics from relief systems
  • Understand aerosol formation from two-phase releases
  • Become familiar with dispersion of single and multiphase jets
  • Learn key parameters influencing the dispersion of single and multiphase jets
