In this webinar, Dr. Hartings explores several areas where home cooks have performed intricate and amazing chemistry while developing new recipes. His presentation focuses on examples of kitchen chemistry from which materials scientists might find inspiration for their own research. Mostly, though, Dr. Hartings hopes to convey the joy that can come from executing and understanding how a dish comes together.
Matthew Hartings is a material chemist by training with a passion for food and food chemistry. He has funneled this passion into the creation of a course on the chemistry of cooking and into a book titled, "A Chemist in Your Kitchen."
