This webinar provides an overview of the sustainable attributes of an integrated waste management system and the essential role of thermal treatment with energy recovery. It explores how modern Energy from Waste is compatible with recycling and its inherent sustainable attributes, including generation of renewable energy, reduction of greenhouse gases, air emissions and other parameters such as land and water management.
Marco Castaldi was born in New York City and received his B.S. ChE (Magna cum Laude) from Manhattan College. His Ph.D. is in Chemical Engineering from UCLA and he has minors in Advanced Theoretical Physics and Astrophysics. Professor Castaldi has approximately 60 peer-reviewed research articles, 40 peer-reviewed conference papers, 3 book chapters and 11 patents in the fields of catalysis, combustion and gasification. Brian Bahor is the Vice President of Sustainability at Covanta Energy Corporation, where he is responsible for climate change projects and management of its sustainability report. Mr. Bahor has been employed as an environmental professional for 29 years, including 22 years at Covanta. He has led a variety of diverse environmental projects, primarily in the waste management industry.
