Each of us can recall times when we made decisions that we later regretted and wonder at the emotionality or “illogic” in which were swept up at the time. Your broker calls you in October 2008 and urges you to sell because the market is plummeting, but you hang on anyway expecting the typical post-election bounce. If only you had listened to that advisor, the professional you paid to manage your account! What were you thinking? The better question may be, “How were you thinking?”

As managers and supervisors who facilitate decision making that is critical to organizational success, it is important to understand how we go about making decisions…the quality ones and the flawed ones. In this webinar, Merri Hanson – nationally recognized trainer and mediator – peers behind “what” people are thinking when they make decisions to HOW they are thinking. Merri discusses how logic, emotion, and memory affect our decision making and she shares practical steps that we can take to boost the quality of decision making and avoid common missteps.
