Do you cry when your P&IDs show both design pressure and MAWP? Do you lose sleep wondering whether one is more important than the other?
While it is entertaining to participate in legendary debates – think Ford vs. Chevy; Jordan vs. Kobe; Fruity Pebbles vs. Cocoa Puffs – some debates must be resolved to maintain the safety of your facility. This intellectual sparring match between two PSM heavyweights will open by sharing the opinions of the presenters on some important issues, and then we will take some deep dives into specific areas of PSM. The debaters will take a stand on whether MAWP or Design Pressure should be used in your PSM programs. They will present arguments on which to use in a few critical PSM areas including:
- Relief System Design
- Fixed Equipment Inspection
- Hazard Evaluations
- Plant modifications
- Grass roots facility design
At the end of this great debate, a decision will be shared - whether one or the other should be used in different PSM program components, or whether one should be chosen and used consistently.
