Gabriel Isaacman-VanWertz is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech. He completed his PhD at the University of California, Berkeley, after which he spent two years as an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow at MIT. He is originally from the East Coast, growing up in Maryland and completing his undergraduate at Wesleyan University in Connecticut. He currently lives in Blacskburg, VA with his wife and two young kids, where he spends his free time trying to keep the deer and groundhogs from eating everything in their garden.
