The Oita Works has been running for thirty years and most of the electrical facilities in the Oita Works have been used over their general life-spans (25~30 years). Additionally, facility management has been required for securing the four-year continuous operation since 2008 due to the extension of the power outage cycle from every two years to every four years. In consideration of such situation, we have been addressing the simple estimation of the remaining life-span of the electrical facilities utilizing the thermography for perceiving the deterioration condition under operation and systematically implementing preventive maintenance.
Since it is difficult to execute predictive maintenance for troubles of adjusting valves and such troubles have serious effects on the plant, new facility management method is required. We focused on the positioner which has high frequency of the breakdown and we have adopted the maintenance management method in each rank considering “index of deterioration level” and “influence degree to operation” as a trial in order to implement reliable maintenance and secure the reliability of the adjusting valves with the cost saving.
In this report, we introduce how to deal with the maintenance management utilizing new deterioration diagnosis technology which is applied in electricity and instrumentation equipment in which it is generally difficult to make deterioration diagnosis and estimation of remaining life-span
