Dr. Berka is an experienced molecular biologist and research director whose career spans more than 35 years of microbial strain development for the application of enzymes in industrial biotechnology. He currently manages ADM’s enzyme development laboratory in Davis, CA. His tenure in the industry encompasses scientific positions at Novozymes, Inc., Genencor International and Genentech. He holds a Doctorate in Microbiology & Immunology from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, a Master’s degree in Biology from Drake University and Bachelor’s Degree in Microbiology from the University of Iowa.
