Alexandre Zanghellini is a Co-Founder of Arzeda and serves as its Chief Executive Officer. He leads Arzeda’s corporate strategy, including technology and product development. Alex is one of the inventors of Arzeda’s synthetic biology platform for novel enzyme and metabolic pathway design and is a keen believer in the power of biotechnology to solve some of our biggest societal challenges, especially that of transforming industrial processes to be more efficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly. Before founding Arzeda, Alex held positions in research and development both in academia and industry (Cellectis, NASDAQ: CLLS). Alex is the author of multiple peer-reviewed publications, including in Science and Nature, and is an inventor on 16 issued patents and applications. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA, a M. Eng. in Computer Engineering from ENSTA/ParisTech in Paris, France and a M.S. in Computer Science/Machine learning from University of Paris VI Pierre et Marie Curie in Paris, France.
