Microcor wireless transmitter

Each Microcor wireless transmitter (MWT) monitors corrosion as a node in a self-organizing, secure network (mesh) that provides consistent data delivery. This flexible approach adapts to a plant’s layout, which improves on the traditional hard-wired model of monitoring systems. Unlike typical wireless systems, which require a direct line of sight between the instrument and the communications gateway, the Microcor allows each instrument to communicate with the next, ensuring that there can be no single point of failure and that data are successfully relayed to the gateway.

Model 675 submersible level transmitter

The Model 675 submersible level transmitter operates in slurries and other highly viscous environments where sensor clogging may occur. Using a 3.5-in. flush diaphragm that is contained within a stainless steel cage, this transmitter offers continuous functionality in tough, demanding and dirty applications. The instrument is made from Type 316L stainless steel, can perform at depths to 138 ft of water, and, when used with the approved barrier, is certified as intrinsically safe for Class 1, Div 1, Groups A, B, C, D and Class II, Groups E, F, G environments.

491M-PB module

The 491M-PB module is a pressure balance accessory that enables the 491M modular gas-standards generators to maintain steady gas pressures. At trace concentrations (e.g., ppm, ppb, and ppt) of reactive gases, surface adsorption within the system can significantly alter the actual mixture concentration that is delivered. The 491M module eliminates concentration fluctuations by providing a stable reference pressure for all of the mixture flow paths.

Phase Monitor II

The Phase Monitor II determines the solubility of various compounds and mixtures in subcritical and supercritical fluids, providing direct, visual observation of materials. An option for this instrument, the Data Acquisition Package (DAP) provides real-time image and data capture directly to a PC. The video image and the temperature and pressure data are displayed on the computer monitor, and may be archived directly to the hard drive along with a record of the date and time and an optional user-supplied short text comment.

Microdust Pro particulate monitor

The Microdust Pro particulate monitor assesses concentrations of suspended matter over the range of 1µg/m3 to 2,500 mg/m3. Using near-forward light-scattering technology, it is suitable for tracking airborne microscopic particles, including dust, dirt, soot, mold spores, smoke and liquid droplets, in industrial hygiene, indoor air quality, and workplace exposure investigations. Its narrow scatter range of only 12–20 deg. minimizes uncertainty caused by particle color, shape and refractive index.

Smart Wireless field starter kit

The Smart Wireless field starter kit uses standard WirelessHART technology to enhance user flexibility, delivering better than 99% communications reliability in the steel and concrete environment of most plants because the network self-organizes around obstacles, whether permanent (e.g., steel girders) or mobile (e.g., moving rail cars, vehicles). Its latest release includes discrete switches and vibration and pH transmitters, as well as all the features of earlier versions.

AST4520 submersible pressure sensor

The AST4520 is a media-isolated, submersible pressure sensor with an all-stainless-steel construction that is approved to Underwriters Laboratories / Canadian Underwriters Laboratory (UL/cUL) 913 Class 1, Division 1 IS, Groups C and D, when used with an approved barrier. It is a cost-effective solution for monitoring the level of viscous media in turbulent tanks. Its flush-diaphram steel-cage design allows for proper media flow while keeping the sensor at the bottom of the tank or well.

gel-permeation chromatography (GPC) standards for natural and synthetic polymer applications

These gel-permeation chromatography (GPC) standards for natural and synthetic polymer applications provide pre-weighed, accurate portions, and are traceable to standards provided by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). Triple Detection Standards (TDS) consist of six sets of two standards each, one narrow and one broad. They calibrate detectors that are used in triple detection, such as light-scattering, viscometers, and refractometers.

New Swiss Facility

Thermo Fisher Scientific has opened a new facility in Reinach, Switzerland, near Basel, to support the large pharmaceutical and chemical industry cluster in Switzerland near the French and German borders. It houses the company’s analytical instrument operations and commercial operations, and consolidates the Flux Instruments and Spectronex product lines that were acquired from SwissAnalytic Group. The 12,000-ft2 facility features a 3,200-ft2 demonstration laboratory containing new mass spectrometers and other laboratory instruments and consumables.

Titan-OL (On-Line) system

The Titan-OL (On-Line) system provides real-time extractive-gas-phase analysis for online and continuous multi-point analysis. It includes a rugged, industrial Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer, gas cell(s), sample manifold, valve-control electronics, and software. The hardware is encased in a NEMA-rated enclosure or in a standard industrial rack-mount cabinet. The manufacturer’s exclusive fiber-optic distribution electronics provide a single hub for temperature, pressure, mass flow, external alarm, and optical switching signals.
