X-STREAM process gas analyzers

X-STREAM process gas analyzers now incorporate the manufacturer’s IntrinzX intrinsically linear photometric technology to provide high-sensitivity, large dynamic ranges, and long-term span stability. IntrinzX uses split-cell dual-beam photometry and constant comparison of the reference signal and the measurement signal to achieve an intrinsically linear response to changes in concentration. This enables sensitivity as low as 0–10 ppm, span drift of less than 0.5% per week, and dynamic ranges as large as 0–200 to 0–50,000 ppm.

Exoscan Portable FTIR Spectrometer

The Exoscan is a portable, compact Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectrometer that weighs less than 7 lb and is controlled by a PDA. It is powered by either an on-board rechargeable lithium-ion battery or an AC power adapter. The spectrometer is designed for nondestructive onsite surface and bulk analysis applications, including sampling solids, pastes, gels and liquids. In addition to its external reflectance-sampling interface, it features a sampling system that can handle the analysis of large surfaces.

PX35 Series industrial pressure transducers

The PX35 Series industrial pressure transducers are highly accurate millivolt output units that can be configured for many applications in the chemical industry. Users can select gage, absolute or sealed models, as well as options that feature psi or metric ranges.

COX 4080 extended-range flowmeter

Using the COX 4080 extended-range flowmeter ensures that accurate measurements are taken. It tracks all relevant variables to compensate for viscosity and temperature variations that normally introduce errors. The unit is suitable for use with turbine flowmeters commonly employed in test and measurement applications. This flowmeter now comes with the FlowComp graphical user interface, which enables fluid selection, output configuration and data logging.

near-infrared integrating sphere

An addition to this vendor’s Smart Accessories, the novel near-infrared integrating sphere is designed for the analysis of diffuse reflection. Samples can be placed on top of the instrument, so that minimal sample preparation is required. The integrating sphere achieves highly accurate and fast diffuse-reflectance measurements of a wide range of powders and solids, including polymers, plastics, natural materials and incoming feed materials. These types of analyses are of primary interest to research and analytical services in the polymer industry as well as raw material manufacturers.

SPECTRACAP oxygen transmitter OMT355

The SPECTRACAP oxygen transmitter OMT355 measures oxygen concentration optically by analyzing the absorption of light (generated by a tunable diode laser (TDL)), and associating that data to the wavelength characteristic of the oxygen molecule. A compact probe suitable for field use, the OMT355 can be flange-mounted directly into a process without sampling or sample conditioning equipment, providing the user with realtime measurement data without sample-switching delays.

Sysmex FPIA-3000 automated particle shape and size analyzer

The Sysmex FPIA-3000 automated particle shape and size analyzer now has the capability to measure particles suspended in nonaqueous solvents, as well as those in water-based materials. This is especially important in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries, where there is often a requirement to measure the shape and size of particles that are soluble in water. The Sysmex FPIA-3000 can now accommodate all common solvents, including acetone, methylethylketone, ethyl acetone, xylene and toluene.

Micro-Lite LV2000 LED ring light

The Micro-Lite LV2000 high-intensity dimmable LED ring light features a circular array of 12 surface-mount LEDs with optical lenses that produce bright, glare-free light. Its performance compares to that of a 150-W halogen light, but it costs much less to power and is Energy Star compliant. It is designed to fit all microscopes and is rated for up to 100,000-h service life. All LED controls are in its head, which has a 2.35-in. inner ring and an anti-glare white finish, and is attached with finger screws.

CV-30 live-cell imaging chamber

The CV-30 live-cell imaging chamber is compatible with any microscope stage capable of accepting a multi-well plate. It features a user-defined bath geometry, bath volume, and a large viewing area. A 0.17-mm-thick glass coverslip forms the top of the chamber and a 1.0-mm-thick round coverslip forms the chamber bottom. The CV-30 is compatible with CytoViva’s high-resolution imaging system, so it can be used for simultaneous observation of fluorescent and non-fluorescent samples.

Special Needs And Products (SNAP)

Special Needs And Products (SNAP) is a new service that provides access to a team of applications engineers who develop customized solutions to meet unusual signal-interface needs in industrial process control, systems integration and factory automation applications. When an off-the-shelf replacement instrument is not suitable, the SNAP team performs updates on instruments by modifying functions, including: non-standard power ranges, non-standard signal inputs and outputs, computing and math functions, and alarm trips, among others.
