May 2025 Virtual Dinner Meeting - Integrating Process Safety and Innovation

It is important to consider process safety early in the innovation process. Using the proper evaluation tool will ensure that your innovation can be safely and economically commercialized. Attendees of this meeting will be introduced to the Success Modes and Effect Analysis (SMEA) evaluation tool, a phased-gate approach for a safety evaluation of an innovation. The five Stage Gates identified for SMEA are: (1) Invention or Discovery, (2) Business Case, (3) Technical Feasibility, (4) Commercial Feasibility, and (5) Product Launch / Commercialization. Examples of reviews at each stage, and Lessons Learned for those examples will also be reviewed.  1 PDH of continuing edication credit wil be awarded to attendees.
