American Institute of Chemical Engineers Joins Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry to Cosponsor BIOPRO Expo 2010

AIChE has named Michael Domach, professor of chemical engineering at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, associate editor of Biotechnology Progress, a journal published on its behalf by Wiley-Blackwell. Domach will succeed to the editorship after a period of transition with Jerome Schultz, chair of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of California, Riverside, who has edited Biotechnology Progress since 1989.

Center for Chemical Process Safety Joins Safety Engineers, OSHA, To Promote North American Occupational Safety & Health Week

Society for Biological Engineering Holds Second International Conference on Stem Cell Engineering

AIChE s Society for Biological Engineering (SBE) has organized its Second International Conference on Stem Cell Engineering. The conference, which runs from May 2nd to 5th at the Hyatt Harborside Hotel in Boston, Massachusetts, will bring together bioengineers with stem cell scientists to focus on the ways in which basic research, applied science, and engineering can be optimally combined to impact healthcare.

U.S.Environmental Protection Agency and American Institute of Chemical Engineers Partner to Celebrate 40th Anniversary of Earth Day

AIChE and its Institute for Sustainability are working with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on the 6th Annual National Sustainable Design Expo, which will be held in conjunction with events marking the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day. The expo, to be held on April 24th and 25th on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., will showcase the work of innovative engineers, scientists and business leaders who are committed to economic growth, while reducing environmental impact.

Chemical Engineers Meet to Address Energy and Environmental Challenges; More than 1,200 Expected in San Antonio

AIChE Member Named One of “New Faces of Engineering” for 2010

Michael Pepera, a process engineer for CH2M Hill in Bellingham, Washington, has been named one of the New Faces of Engineering for 2010 by The National Engineers Week Foundation. Part of the National Engineers Week celebration, observed from February 14-20, New Faces of Engineering highlights the work of young engineers and their impact on society.
