American Institute Of Chemical Engineers Honors Marathon Petroleum Company With New Engineering And Construction Award

In a ceremony during its Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City last week, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) presented its new Engineering and Construction Award to Marathon Petroleum Company for the successful design and construction of the addition to its Garyville, Louisiana, refinery. This award recognizes individuals and teams for achievement in the design and/or construction of process plants or process plant revamps.

American Institute Of Chemical Engineers Honors Dow Chemical Company Team For R&D Achievement

In a ceremony during its Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City last week, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) presented its inaugural Industrial Research and Development Award to the “Shuttle Crew” at the Dow Chemical Company’s Freeport, Texas, facility for discovering a new mechanism for polymerization and creating unique new polymers. The new award recognizes individuals or teams working in the industries served by chemical engineers for innovation that has resulted in the successful commercial development of new products or new processes for making useful processes.

American Institute Of Chemical Engineers Honors Shariq Yosufzai With Industrial Leadership Award

In a ceremony during its Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City last week, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) presented its inaugural Industrial Leadership Award to S. Shariq Yosufzai, vice president, Chevron Corporation. The award recognizes individuals or teams working in the industries served by chemical engineers, for leadership and accomplishment in activities including: management; sales and marketing; public, community, and industrial relations; commercial and business development, training, or public service.

American Institute Of Chemical Engineers Honors Bristol-Myers Squibb With New Process Operations Award

In a ceremony last week during its Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) presented its new Process Operations Award to Bristol-Myers Squibb - Process and Development. The award, which recognizes individuals or teams working in plant operations, process control, and/or supply chain management that have significantly improved the safety, reliability or economics of process operation, went to the company team for its efforts in implementing “recipe” control in pharmaceutical process development.

American Institute Of Chemical Engineers Honors UOP With Sustainable Energy Award

In a ceremony during its Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City last week, the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) presented its Sustainable Energy Award to the UOP-ENI Biologically-based fuels team. The award, which was first presented in 2009, recognizes individuals, teams or companies who have made a significant contribution toward alternative energy development, generation and use.

Society for Biological Engineering Honors Harvey Blanch
