Matrix total control system brochure

The Matrix total control system is the subject of this new brochure, which provides detailed descriptions and customer testimonials of how the Matrix is in use in gas plants, oil and gas, boiler control, biotech and pharmaceutical, chemical and petrochemical, cement, and water and waste applications, among others. Also included is information about the company’s latest development, Matrix SafetyNet, a SIL-2-rated safety system that enables the user to build emergency shutdown (ESD) and fire and gas (F&G) systems on the same platform as the process control system.

MagneStar magnetic liquid-level gage brochure

The redesigned MagneStar magnetic liquid-level gage is featured in this brochure. The literature explains the gage’s principle of operation, which is based on a custom-designed float and magnetically coupled indicator. It provides product specifications such as mounting configurations, indicator styles and materials of construction, as well as options such as continuous level transmitters and point level switches.

Chemical Inventory Systems for Pharmaceutical Plants

This white paper details how chemical inventory systems (CIS) deliver real-time, accurate information about inventory status to ensure greater cost control while supporting validation requirements.

Hypersil GOLD High-Pressure Liquid Chromatography (HPLC

Hypersil GOLD high-pressure liquid chromatography (HPLC) columns now come in a new 1.9-µm particle size model, in addition to the 3-, 5- and 8-µm columns already available. The smaller particle size allows higher separation efficiency and improved peak capacity, enabling the accurate detection and quantification of lower concentrations of analytes. Dimensions are optimized for high-throughput analysis, and include 20-, 30- and 50-mm lengths and 2.1 to 4.6 mm i.d., as well as 10- and 20-mm Javelin columns.

S-PRO 3200 Series of Turn-Key Gas Chromatography (GC) Systems

The S-PRO 3200 series of turn-key gas chromatography (GC) systems are pulsed flame photometric detector (PFPD)-based units that provide parts-per-billion sulfur analysis of both gaseous and liquefied petroleum gas samples. They can generate their own sulfur standards using an integrated permeation tube oven, which provides stable, NIST-traceable, multiple low-level sulfur standards for calibration or quality- control check samples. This eliminates the costs and errors common with sulfur standards in gas cylinders.

FireView is a Hybrid Analyzer

FireView is a hybrid analyzer that combines in situ and extractive sensors to generate the complete oxygen, carbon monoxide and nitrous oxides profile essential for optimizing combustion in fossil-fuel-fired boilers, furnaces, reformers and process heaters. Unlike conventional analyzers, it uses a hightemperature probe to directly measure O2 and temperature in the combustion chamber, which also serves as a sample port for extractive CO and NOx analysis.

Snubbers Provide Affordable Choke-Valve Protection

Available in brass or stainless steel, these adjustable choke-valve snubbers protect pressure gages from pressure surges and fluid hammering, and help prevent needle pointers from jumping. A fine thread adjustment allows users to tune out harmful harmonic vibration. They are offered with 1/4-, 3/8-, and 1/2-in. NPT connections with pressure capabilities of 3,000–10,000 psi, depending on the size and material.

Wireless Output Devices Allow Remote Monitoring

Complementing a line of integrated wireless field units, these analog, digital and analog/digital output modules enable processors to remotely monitor equipment and process conditions with no field wiring. They allow the integration of wireless monitoring instrumentation into existing control systems for a variety of applications. The analog modules provide four 4–20-mA analog outputs, the digital modules provide eight switch-closure outputs that report the conditions of the input switches and the status of the field units, and the analog/digital modules combine the capabilities of both.

Model AHT-200 Absolute Humidity Transmitter

The Model AHT-200 absolute humidity transmitter uses thermal conductivity sensors to measure moisture content at elevated temperatures up to 200°C. It is said to outperform conventional capacitive/resistance humidity sensors in harsh environments, and it can recover from exposure to deposits and condensation. Its range is 0–130 g/m3 with an accuracy of ±3 g/m3, which corresponds to ±2.3% RH at 35 g/m3 at 60°C.

Xchanger Suite 5.0

The latest addition to Xchanger Suite 5.0 is the Xspe 5.0 component for rating and simulating spiral heat exchangers. The suite is also made more functional for designing, rating and simulating heat exchangers with the added support of the Cape-Open Thermodynamic Interface Version 1.0. —an international standard for interfacing physical property and unit operation  modules to compliant process simulators, such as HYSYS and Aspen Plus.
