Signet 8550 flowmeter

The Signet 8550 flowmeter converts the signal from a flow sensor to a 4–20-mA signal for long-distance transmission. It features a choice of single or dual input/output, as well as two optional relays for process control, and scalability for almost any flow range or engineering unit. The flow-meter is available in three packaging options: integral/pipe, universal field mount, and panel installation. It has an operating temperature range of–10°C to 70°C (14°F to 158°F), and its National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) 4X enclosure has a self-healing window.

OriMaster

The OriMaster differential-pressure orifice flowmeter reduces installation costs by 50% because users do not need to install a separate manifold, transmitter, and impulse piping. This compact, one-piece unit is pressure-tested and configured during production, eliminating most of the problems normally associated with sizing, selection, installation and operation of conventional configurations. The flowmeter’s centralization tool ensures that the meter is correctly positioned in the pipeline. Both models are suitable for use with clean liquids, gases and steam in line sizes from 1 in.

9901 family of chambers

The 9901 family of high-quality chambers enables external mounting of level measurement and control instrumentation on process vessels. External mounting allows easy isolation of a particular instrument for routine maintenance or calibration, as well as for the fitting of instrumentation to vessels having internal structures. The units can also act as stilling chambers for liquid surfaces that are prone to turbulence. The chambers’ design is fully compliant with the European Union’s Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) B31.3 standard.

True Wireless universal monitors

True Wireless universal monitors can detect gases in virtually any application. They are capable of monitoring and transmitting data using a variety of wireless communications options, including: an ISA 100.11a 2.4-GHz mesh network; ultra-high-frequency/very-low-frequency (UHF/VHF) radio; general packet radio service (GPRS) cellular radio; and low-Earth-orbit satellite. The units are equipped with 4–20-mA output and alarm relays, and meet the requirements of both Class I, Div. 1 Underwriters Laboratories (UL) 1203 and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) 22.2 No. 30 standards.

IONizer industrial wireless networking appliance

The IONizer industrial wireless networking appliance uses the manufacturer’s IONosphere and ION system to integrate wireless sensor network gateways based on either ISA100.11a or WirelessHART standards. Its 802.11 (WiFi) radios support other industrial wireless applications, such as mobility, location, video, and communications, as well as provide efficient, wireless backhaul of sensor data. This integration allows transmission of real-time sensor data from devices instrumented with ISA100 or WirelessHART-based sensors to the ION Condition Monitoring application.

Sitrans P280 and Sitrans TF280 transmitters

The Sitrans P280 transmitter for pressure measurement and the Sitrans TF280 transmitter for temperature each feature a WirelessHART interface and a backlit graphical display, and they are easily operated via push-buttons. They are supplied with an integrated battery that lasts at least five years, and the amount of power remaining is displayed in terms of days left. The Sitrans AW200 adapter allows the manufacturer’s other process instruments without WirelessHART interfaces to be integrated into WirelessHART communications.

568 handheld thermometer

The 568 handheld thermometer offers broad infrared (IR) temperature measurement functionality, an on-screen menu system and a dot-matrix display. It combines contact and non-contact temperature measurement capability in a single, easy-to-use tool. The thermometers have a temperature measurement range from –40°F to 1472°F at 1% measurement accuracy. Via a soft-key menu display, users can set alarms, log data and adjust emissivity with a few pushes of a button.

Model 231 Multi-Sense differential-pressure transducer

The Model 231 Multi-Sense differential-pressure transducer is suitable for monitoring control pump differential pressures, chiller or boiler differential pressure drops, and flow of gases or liquids. The transducer reduces inventory and installation costs by providing the user with field-selectable features such as switch-selectable pressure ranges, selectable analog outputs, and uni-directional and bi-directional spans. An optional LCD display is available for in situ reporting of range and output status.

Modbus STI

This display meter works with the Level Plus MG transmitter via a Modbus interface to monitor the product, interface and temperature all from a single process opening. With a direct connection, the Modbus protocol provides volume measurement with a strapping table (up to 100 points) and temperature correction according to API standards. Developed as a side-tank indicator (STI) for storage tanks, it can display tank levels in feet and inches, to sixteenths of an inch.

MINIDIS portable analyzer

The MINIDIS portable analyzer uses the new ASTM D7344-07 method to determine the distillation characteristics of a wide range of petroleum products, including: low-sulfur diesel fuels; petroleum spirits; naphthas; and kerosenes. Specifically developed for a small sample volume, its miniaturized apparatus makes field testing possible — the compact instrument can be installed in a mobile lab, or a fleet of tank trucks can be equipped with the device.
