Simatic WinCC V7 TeleControl

Simatic WinCC V7 TeleControl is a process-visualization system that is well-suited for small installations, especially in water, wastewater, and oil-and-gas applications. The TeleControl software uses a wide-area network (WAN) to flexibly integrate remote terminal units equipped with Simatic automation components into the installation’s central process-visualization system. The system supports the three main telecontrol protocols: IEC 60870-5 101/104, DNP V3 (serial or TCP/IP), and Sinaut ST7 (serial or TCP/IP).

Fieldbus Foundation interface

Working with Fieldbus, Inc., this company has added a Fieldbus Foundation interface to its Linkbus remote instrument monitoring system (Linkbus RIMS), which allows the firm’s process analyzers and instruments to be seamlessly integrated with a wide range of plant control systems. It also provides a data bridge so that older analyzers that use proprietary communications protocols can be integrated into modern Fieldbus Foundation networks. The ability to gain easy, remote access to analyzer information and trend data allows for more-efficient maintenance and troubleshooting.

iFlex flexible current probes

The iFlex flexible current probes expand the measurement range of select Fluke meters to 2,500 A a.c. The large coil allows users to reach around large (up to 6 in. dia.) or awkwardly shaped conductors, while the small (0.3 in.) profile allows the coil to reach between tightly packed cables in crowded spaces. A 6-ft cord makes it easier to see readings at a distance from the conductor. The iFlex probes connect directly to the firm’s current meters, displaying current measurements without the need for error-prone scaling factors. In addition to a.c.

Liquiline CM442 two-parameter transmitter

The Liquiline CM442 is a four-wire, two-parameter transmitter that is designed to simplify analytical sensing applications. Using one unit instead of two conventional single-parameter transmitters allows plants to reduce costs related to the purchase, installation and maintenance of the system and simplify the measurement of process variables.

Vinnapas EP 1400

Vinnapas EP 1400 is a high-performance base polymer characterized by high setting speed and good machine properties. This aqueous copolymer dispersion, based on vinyl acetate and ethylene (VAE), is designed for adhesives for the paper and packing, laminating, and product-assembly industries. The VAE technology makes it possible for users to simplify adhesive formulations using fewer additives, thereby reducing costs.

Pinnacle 5135C3 and 5155C3 resins

Using Millad NX8000 clarifiers from Milliken Chemical (which are said to provide a fourfold improvement in yellowness index and can be molded at lower temperatures), this firm now offers several new polypropylene polymer grades that provide peak brightness and improved aesthetics compared to existing offerings. The two new PP3 random copolymer grades enable the production of housewares and other products with a brighter and cleaner look. The Pinnacle 5135C3 and 5155C3 resins enable shorter cooling times and a broader processing window, which can provide cycle-time reductions of up to 26%.

MonoDose water-soluble films

The MonoDose family of products includes water-soluble films that are used for individually packaging pre-measured doses of products. When the filled sachets are introduced to water, the film completely dissolves, releasing the product. While existing films in the MonoDose family generally have a clear appearance, they do retain a slight haze as a result of the chemical makeup of the film and the production process.

Solid Catalysts

Bac2 has expanded its CSR family of latent-acid catalysts, which were previously available only in liquid form. The new solid catalysts enable safer storage, transportation and processing of pre-polymeric mixes, and they are particularly well-suited for being blended into dry mixes or added to nonaqueous pre-polymers. The most common latent catalyst salts often require too high a temperature to break down and release the acid, and weaker basic primary and secondary amines do not associate with strong acids to form a salt stable enough to prevent premature catalysis.

Master Bond Polymer System EP30D-7

Combining the benefits of epoxy resins and polyurethanes, the Master Bond Polymer System EP30D-7 offers superior strength, flexibility, abrasion resistance and toughness. This two-component epoxy is ideal for bonding, sealing, coating and encapsulating in a variety of chemical process applications. Its lower exotherm also makes it suitable for casting and potting in cross-section thicknesses of over one inch.

APEX screeners

APEX screeners are available in one- and two-deck models with capacities up to 150 tons/h. The screening motion — characterized by long stroke and low frequency — rapidly stratifies particles without agitation or remixing, thereby delivering consistent particle size at high throughput rates. Mesh-cleaning balls bounce against the screen to provide aggressive blinding control, even in applications where lumps and objectionable fines are common. Gyratory motion at the feed end quickly spreads the product, and an elliptical-linear stroke at the discharge end separates closely sized materials.
