SCADA System

Control Microsystems and Longwatch have collaborated to combine the former’s ClearSCADA system with the Longwatch Video Surveillance Platform and Video Historian Platform to capture security information for critical infrastructure and convey it to plant personnel. The video surveillance uses Modbus protocol and is event-driven, thus conserving bandwidth. The Longwatch system continuously captures and stores video locally, and only raises the alarm and transmits a video message when motion is detected, showing what happened before and after the event.

Fisher Control-Disk valve

The Fisher Control-Disk valve offers excellent throttling performance and is suitable for applications with varying pressure drops in the hydrocarbon, refining, chemical, pulp and paper, and metals and mining industries. Its wide control range is double that of typical butterfly valves, providing better adherence to the setpoint regardless of process disturbances, resulting in a reduction in process variability.

Masterflex P/S line of digital peristaltic pumping systems

The Masterflex P/S line of digital peristaltic pumping systems provides repeatability of 0.1% to maximize productivity in precision chemical feed, batch dispensing, and filling applications. The line covers a wide range of complete systems, which include a standard digital drive, a computerized drive, and a stainless steel National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) 4X process drive. Turndown ratios of up to 6,000:1 provide users with flexibility in both volume and time of dispensing.

LP750 Series linear-position sensors

Non-contacting LP750 Series linear-position sensors have an excellent stroke-to-length ratio, making them suitable for long-stroke applications. The sensors operate at distances from 0–4 in. to 50 in., and because they can be almost the same length as the stroke, they can replace failing potentiometers in many industrial position-measurement applications, such as machine tool positioning, hydraulic cylinder positioning, valve position sensing, and automated assembly.

viscometer/rheometer-on-a-chip (VROC

The micro-fabricated viscometer/rheometer-on-a-chip (VROC) enables samples as small as 50 mL to be used for accurate, repeatable, and high-resolution viscosity measurement. Each microelectricmechanical systems (MEMS) VROC chip measures 18.9 mm ×11.7 mm × 1.6 mm, and weighs only 0.64 g. This small chip geometry allows measurements to be taken beyond conventional instrumentation limits to conditions with very high shear rates. It can withstand a maximum shear stress of 10,000?Pa and a shear rate of about 1,000,000/s for a low-viscosity sample

HTWAT silicone rubber heating tapes

Designed for process temperature control, freeze protection, and supplemental heat applications in the manufacturing, construction, petroleum and public works industries, HTWAT silicone rubber heating tapes feature an adjustable thermostat control that goes up to 218ºC (425ºF). They are moisture- and chemical-resistant, and are suitable for use on electrically conductive surfaces. They heat up very quickly and are CE-compliant. These tapes can be used on valves, pipelines, bearings, filter housings, paint, powder, actuators, etc.

SFT-20 liquid carbon dioxide pump

Without the need for external cooling baths, the SFT-20 liquid carbon dioxide pump delivers a high flowrate of 200 mL/min. It generates pressures up to 10,000 psi (69 MPa), making it ideal for use in supercritical fluid applications. The pump utilizes reliable, dual-sapphire syringe technology to rapidly and accurately produce the high pressures required for supercritical fluid applications. Building on the reliable technology of its 24-mL/min predecessor (the SFT-10 pump), the SFT-20 maximizes high-capacity Peltier cooling to stabilize pump head temperature.

6890/7890 Series gas chromatograph (GC) and 5973/5975 Series gas-chromatograph/mass-spectrometer (GC/MS) systems

The Intelligent Services feature for remote instrument-monitoring and diagnostics is now part of the 6890/7890 Series gas chromatograph (GC) and 5973/5975 Series gas-chromatograph/mass-spectrometer (GC/MS) systems. The proven, secure IT technology links instruments to customer-support centers, where experts provide proactive technical support designed to address problems before they affect lab produc-tivity. A push-for-help feature enables single-button requests for assistance so that service engineers can remotely determine the status of the system before responding.

Extended linearity 500 electromagnetic flowmeters

Extended linearity (EL) 500 electromagnetic flowmeters create a unique electromagnetic field profile to ensure accuracy in turbulent, laminar and transitional flows. They operate based on the Faraday principle, by which a conductor crossing a mag-netic field generates a potential, which is directly proportional to the flow velocity. Available in line sizes from 1/8 in. to 3/4 in., these compact meters have a wide measurement range of up to 1000:1 without the aid of linearization software. The EL 500 has a bidirectional flow capability with no moving parts and no pressure drop.

Polymer Makedown System

This explosion-proof polymer makedown system is suitable for preparation, activation and injection of liquid polymers in water- and wastewater-treatment applications. It can produce dilute solutions (0.1%–2.0%) at capacities from 20 gal/h to 3,000 gal/h of total makedown solution. The system features all stainless-steel construction and uses the patented Gatlin mixer, which is a motorized mixing chamber that separates the polymer into an ultra-thin film for maximum activation.
