Zymergen
Zach is a Co-Founder of Zymergen and responsible for our overall scientific direction. Zach has 17 peer-reviewed publications in journals including Cell, Science and JACS, seven issued patents. He has served as Principal Investigator on multiple DARPA contracts developing advanced tools for bioengineering and rapid prototyping novel biomolecules to generate innovative polymers and materials. Previously, he was the Director of Biology at Amyris and worked as a research fellow at Stanford University Medical School. He has a Ph.D. in biophysics from UCSF, an MSc in neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh and a BA from Columbia University.
