Peter Carr

Peter Carr is a Senior Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Lincoln Laboratory, where he leads the Synthetic Biology research program. His research interests include genome engineering, rapid prototyping of both hardware and wetware, DNA synthesis and error correction, and biosecurity. He is the Director of Judging for the International Genetically Engineered Machine (iGEM) competition and a founding member of the Synthetic Biology Center at MIT. He received his bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from Harvard, and his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from Columbia University.
