Joseph Walker is a Senior Scientist on the Scientific Solutions team at Riffyn. Joe has over a decade of experience in the biotechnology industry, ranging from pharmaceutical manufacturing and high-throughput screening to downstream processing and wine making. Joe has led the digital transformation of teams across the biotechnology space by implementing Riffyn Nexus in their lab informatics software ecosystem. While each customer’s needs are unique, Joe’s approach threads together the design and optimization of processes and experiments, data pipeline implementation, and change management. To truly harness digital transformation, he helps align cross-functional teams, trains users on the Riffyn Nexus application, and even develops scripts and applications to streamline data analysis and visualization (Joe prefers R but he’s quickly warming up to Python). Joe holds a B.S. in Biotechnology from the University of California, Davis and a certificate in Data Science from UC Berkeley. When Joe’s not focused on the overlap of cutting-edge science and technology, he plays the piano or escapes to the mountains to ski and rock climb.
