Over 150 researchers, educators, students, and industry leaders were invited to the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles on Sept. 26–27, 2024, for a first-of-its-kind event: the Rapidly Addressing Gaps and Solutions in AI Education for Bioprocessing and Smart Manufacturing in Biotech (RAGSAB) conference. Funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) and organized by the Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) and AIChE’s Institute for Learning & Innovation, this grant supported 36 attendees to partake in this groundbreaking event. RAGSAB set out with the mission of equipping the next generation of biotech professionals with the artificial intelligence (AI) skills demanded across the life sciences industry.
