Xiaotao Bi

Dr. X Tony Bi is currently the Methanex Professor in Clean Energy Systems in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering of UBC. He is a Fellow of Canadian Academy of Engineering and Engineering Canada. He has been the director of the UBC Clean Energy Research Centre (www.cerc.ubc.ca), director of China-Canada Bioenergy Centre (www.c-cbc.center), and the manager of the Fluidization Research Centre (www.frc.engineering.ubc.ca). His research has been focused on particle technology, fluidization, multiphase reactors, biomass thermo-catalytic conversion, life cycle analysis and integrated assessments of clean energy systems. He was the recipient of UBC Killam Senior Research Fellowship (2011), AIChE Particle Technology Forum Lectureship Award (2012) and CSChE Industrial Practice Award (2020).
