Duosonics

The Duosonics is a non-invasive, clamp-on, ultrasonic flowmeter that automatically switches between Pulse Doppler and Transit Time technologies depending on the fluid conditions in the pipe. The unit can measure a variety of fluids from ultrapure water to sludges and slurries. It can even measure entirely different fluids flowing through the same pipe. The Duosonics is particularly well-suited for situations with short pipe runs and undeveloped flow.

FT4 Powder Rheometer

The FT4, a universal powder rheometer that is used to perform powder flowability tests, now comes with a fully automated, small-volume shear cell that can be used to measure volumes down to 3 mL or less, depending on the characteristics of the powder. This new accessory enables users to extend the range of shear-testing applications on the FT4 to include those for which only very small amounts of sample are available. This encompasses many pharmaceutical actives, and materials, such as early stage formulations, where a wide range of tests must be carried out on limited supplies.

4–20-mA Calibrator

The low-cost, portable calibrator model 420 was designed for calibration/test of DPMs, PLCs, transmitters, sensors or any other device requiring a 4–20-mA current loop signal. The 4-in.×2.5-in.×4-in. housing comes with a belt clip for ease of operation. Powered by a 9V transistortype battery, this unit operates down to 6V and can drive up to 300 ohm loads or sustain up to 7V burden of the load. The calibrator features a dual full-scale range of 19.99- and 25.0-mA. The calibrator features a 3-1/2 digit built-in display that will only turn on if the “loop” is closed (connected).

Aquacounter Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrator (AQ-200)

With state-of-the-art performance features like a fritless cell option, the Aquacounter Coulometric Karl Fischer Titrator (AQ-200) offers fast and accurate results. This reliable, easy-to-use instrument has six built-in calculation modes to accommodate solid, liquid and gas samples. It includes a statistics package with onetouch calculations. Four files with preset conditions can be stored in memory, and data for up to 20 samples can be instantly recalled. A built-in detector monitors titration status. This unit has balance and computer interfaces for GLP and ISO documentation.

Hoffer Sanitary Series Flowmeters

The Hoffer Sanitary Series flowmeters recently received 3A Sanitary Rating 28-03 after undergoing a third-party verification process. The series provides ±0.5% accuracy (±0.1% with linearization) for use in the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries or any application where sanitary requirements are considered necessary, such as ultrapure deionizedwater, demineralized, or water-for-injection (WFI) water. Available in sizes from 1/4 in. to 3 in., covering flowrates from 0.35 to 650 gal/min, the sanitary meters are supplied with Type 316 stainless steel tri-clamp-style end fittings.

Vortex Autosampler

The Vortex autosampler consists of an integrated autosampling device and multi-stirrer, and is designed to increase ef- ficiency, enhance precision and promote operator safety. The temperature-controlled, heated (up to 150°C) multistirrer assembly features a stainless-steel tray capable of handling both 20-mL and 40- mL vials. Each vial position has its own magnetic stirring mechanism that delivers consistent and reproducible stirring action from vial-to-vial and eliminates variability due to the dissolution process.

Max-Trak Model 180

Touted as the industry’s only NEMA 6 (IP67)-compliant industrial mass-flow controller, the Max-Trak Model 180 is wellsuited for applications where frequent wash-down or hose-down is required. In addition, the instrument comes with the only fully enclosed valve design to drastically minimize leak-in paths. The Max-Trak measures and controls gas mass flowrates from 0 to 200 L/min in a flow body a little over 5 in. long. It has an accuracy of ±0.1% of full scale, and a repeatability of ±0.2% of full scale to ensure process stability, even under changing conditions.

Model 6000 VDC/mADC-input digital panel meter (DPM)

The Model 6000 VDC/mADC-input digital panel meter (DPM) offers a 3.5-digit, 0.6-in. LED or LCD display. An optional alarm relay is activated when the signal exceeds the set limit. Full-scale with wide adjustment is accessible by removing the front cover. The zero is automatic, but an offset can be injected. Other features include: 1,000-Meg. input impedance; auto zero-auto polarity; single ended/differential; and low-power consumption (400 µA at 5VDC for LDC). The unit’s dimensions are 2.3 in. wide by 1.3 in. high by 1.6 in deep.

CM Series Coriolis Flowmeters

Capable of accurate flow measurement in line sizes up to 12 in. and at flowrates up to 80,000 lb/min, the new CM Series Coriolis flowmeters are ideal for applications ranging from clean fluids to the harshest of chemicals. From acids, juices to corrosives, argon to chlorine, hydrogen to ammonia, or even phosgene, the CM Series has a compatible choice of standard wetted parts. In addition to Type 316 stainless steel and Hastelloy, choices include tantalum, Monel, nickel, titanium, carbon steel, zirconium and more.

H2Scan

Based on a technology developed at Sandia National Laboratory, the H2Scan system is a solid-state solution that detects concentrations of hydrogen gas, at concentrations from 10 ppm to 100%, with or without oxygen present. Available in a portable model, the sensor contains a thin film of a palladium-nickel (Pd/Ni) resistor deposited on a silicon substrate that changes resistance in the presence of hydrogen. The lattice inherent in the Pd/Ni absorbs hydrogen molecules. As the number of hydrogen molecules in the lattice increases, the resistance of the Pd/Ni increases in direct correlation.
