Modeling and Simulation of Free Surfaces and Multiphase Flows

Without the proper tools and applications, engineers risk making design decisions based on faulty assumptions or inaccurate process simulation data.  This could lead to inefficiencies such as decreased production, increased operation costs and poor asset performance.

This 60-minute program will be packed with techniques used in the simulation of multiphase flow to understand, predict, and optimize chemical processes.

COMSOL expert and Chief Technology Officer, Ed Fontes will discuss the theory behind multiphase flow to give insight into the physics, mathematical models and how to efficiently solve them using numerical simulation software.  This webinar will also feature a demo utilizing real-world examples within the COMSOL Multiphysics® software environment.

You Will Learn:

  • The fundamentals of multiphase flow
  • The basis behind the level set, phase field, and moving mesh methods
  • How problems with the level set, phase field, and moving mesh methods can be defined and solved in COMSOL Multiphysics®
