Chair(s):
Bommarius, A. S., Georgia Institute of Technology
Co-chair(s):
Acevedo, D. A., U.S. Food and Drug Administration

Continuous manufacturing has significant advantages in terms of increased selectivity, safety, throughput, and quality compared to batch processing. Industry, academia, and regulatory agencies have been carrying out extensive research on utilization of continuous technologies in drug substance manufacturing. This session will focus on applications and advances made by continuous processing relating to isolation technologies applied to the production of drug substances. The session encourages talks elaborating on experimental and modeling approaches for continuous crystallization, extraction, and isolation.
