Dec 2014 Meeting: Engineer's Professional Responsibility

More than any other professional (physician, attorney, etc.), the practicing engineer has the capacity to make mistakes which could cause massive and irreversible damage to people and property. Process safety expert Deb Grubbe will discuss the engineer’s professional responsibility particularly as related to health, safety, and the environment.  This is especially needed because of the high-risk work done by engineers as well as the immense responsibility placed on engineers in the event of an incident. Yet, while the responsibility is so great, there is little formal curriculum or training in this area.
