Chemical Engineering Career in Environmental Consulting

The profession of chemical engineering offers multiple, distinct career paths. Although many young professionals entering the professional world will spend the majority of their time in an industrial setting, working in important careers such as process engineering; many alternatives present themselves. This session will provide a brief overview of the variety of &'specialties&' our profession offers, including careers in: process engineering, academia, law, and government. This overview will be followed by a detailed discussion of a career path in environmental consulting.

Wendell Lim

Wendell Lim is the Byers Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Cellular and Molecular Pharmacology and the Director of the Cell Design Institute at the University of California San Francisco. He received his A.B. in Chemistry, summa cum laude, from Harvard College, his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Biophysics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed his postdoctoral training at Yale University. The 2021 AIChE Annual Student Conference is six days of career information, social events, competitions, and fun. Student engineers from more than 200 schools celebrate the Chemical Engineering profession, along with young professional members, AIChE leaders, and industry professionals from numerous engineering specialties. This year's conference will be hybrid, with both in-person and virtual components. The in-person event will take place at the John B. Hynes Veterans Memorial Convention Center.
