The Isolast J9512 Perfluoroelastomer Seals

The Isolast J9512, a newly-developed perfluoroelastomer seal, exhibits resistance to difficult operational media, including hot water, steam and acids. The range of Isolast family of perfluoroelastomer seals makes it possible to match sealing requirements ensuring optimum sealing performance up to 617ºF. Isolast J9515’s and J9516’s FDA and USP class V1 compliant material formulations help improve production efficiency by extending seal life, while minimizing risk of contamination and bacterial ingress.

Pumps Feature Thrust-Pod Bearing Design

These pumps feature an oil-lubricated “thrust-pod” bearing design that is operator-friendly. Problems with over-greasing or under-greasing the bearing are eliminated and oil level is easily confirmed with a visual inspection of the constant-level oiler. The higher thrust capacity of the thrust-pod allows the mechanical seals to operate near suction pressure and at lower temperatures, reducing seal-pressure velocity values substantially. In applications with this design, the need for magnetic drives or wet-stator motors is eliminated.

PUC-SC15 Sintered Silicon Carbide

PUC-SC15 sintered silicon carbide offers excellent mechanical and thermal properties, as well as extreme corrosion resistance. Applications include seal rings for mechanical seals, bearings and associated wear parts in pumps, seats and plugs in valves, abrasion-resistant linings and high-temperature components.

ARHT Thermoplastic Material

The newest member to this firm’s wear-resistant thermoplastic family, ARHT, provides outstanding chemical, thermal shock and impact resistance, making it an ideal replacement for rubber, bronze and ceramic materials in extreme conditions. This proprietary thermoplastic material is specifically for use as bearings, bushings and wear rings. In pumps handling abrasive media up to 250ºF (121ºC), ARHT reduces clearances and increases mean time between failure (MTBF) when starting at these reduced clearances. Billet sizes range from diameters of 1 in. to 33 in. with lengths up to 8 in.

VentGuard Dessicant Breather Filters

Ideal for small to mid-size ANSI and API pumps, the VentGuard dessicant breather filters offer superior protection, helping to maximize the mean time between failures (MTBF) and optimize production output. Two products are included in the initial rollout, the VentGuard VG-1 and the VentGuard VG-4. The VG-1 is a simple, yet effective miniature breather model that incorporates desiccant and filtration media.

The Magmax

The Magmax Total Containment pump now comes with a 5-yr warranty. The Magmax has a unique drive format, combining the total containment of a canned-motor pump with the simplicity of a magnet drive. True synchronous speeds of 3,000 rev/min (50Hz) or 3,600 rev/min (60Hz) enable these pumps to give greatly improved efficiency, resulting in lower power costs. The pump is said to be the first direct-on-line start (DOL) synchronous motor, and has comprehensive protection with motor thermistors, power control monitor and vapor detector.

Vespel CR-6100

Vespel CR-6100 combines the broad chemical compatibility and low friction coefficient of DuPont Teflon with the dimensional stability of carbon fiber to create an ideal material for pump wear rings, line shaft bearings, bushings and similar components. This unique composite material offers: outstanding run-dry performance; extremely low wear rate; service to over 500°F; excellent impact resistance; and exceptional machining and installation characteristics.

Sintered Pure Silicon Carbide (SSIC)

This Chinese supplier for sealing products now offers various kinds of wear parts made in sintered pure silicon carbide (SSIC). SSIC is a better grade of material than reaction-bonded silicon carbide (SiC RB), and can be made into seal faces, bushes, thrust washers, nozzles, etc. SSIC is wear-resistant and chemical-resistant, making it ideal for use in pumps and mechanical seals

MNX enclosures

MNX enclosures protect components operating in harsh environments. Constructed of polycarbonate and acrylonitrile-butadiene styrene (ABS), the enclosures feature three body and five cover depths to offer over 240 variations. Custom molds are available for high-volume applications. Corrosion-resistant and waterproof, the enclosures are rated NEMA 4X and are UL listed. All models are in compliance withthe RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) directive.

Amilon custom-compound PTFE materials

Amilon custom-compound polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) materials are used as additives to enhance other materials’ properties, such as thermal conductivity, friction, compressive strength, wear rate, creep and cold flow, and to provide resistance to abrasion, temperature and corrosion. They use a wide range of fillers, such as glass, graphite, molybdenum and bronze, and can withstand temperatures from –400°F to 500°F. The materials are available in sheets, rods, cylinders, or machined parts, and can be made in distinctive colors.
