The micro-fabricated viscometer/rheometer-on-a-chip (VROC) enables samples as small as 50 mL to be used for accurate, repeatable, and high-resolution viscosity measurement. Each microelectricmechanical systems (MEMS) VROC chip measures 18.9 mm ×11.7 mm × 1.6 mm, and weighs only 0.64 g. This small chip geometry allows measurements to be taken beyond conventional instrumentation limits to conditions with very high shear rates.
