K-12 STEM Ambassador Program
This program gives students a personal perspective by meeting the undergraduate K-12 STEM ambassadors and brings STEM into traditionally underserved populations.
The K-12 Stem Ambassadors consists of 10 AIChE student chapter members who underwent rigorous online training hosted by AIChE Academy and former Dow employee, Larry Sernyk, covering how to prepare and demonstrate science experiments, classroom learning outcomes and collaborative learning styles. The program, in partnership with Dow, and funded by Dan and Ellen Coombs, was piloted in the Edison Intermediate / Larry Larson Middle School, Columbus OH.
