Thomas Flynn
Tom Flynn Biography Tom Flynn completed a Bachelor ’s degree in Chemical Engineering at The Cleveland State University in 1980 and a Master ’s degree at The University of Akron in 1983. Tom Flynn has been an employee of the Babcock & Wilcox Company for 40 years. During that time he has developed technology in a variety of areas including pulverized coal burners, wet and dry scrubbers for removing sulfur dioxide, fluidized bed combustion, fuel processing for fuel cells, nonlinear signal analysis and control, and most recently, CO2-friendly energy conversion systems, such as oxy-combustion and chemical looping. He is an AIChE Fellow and the 37th recipient of the Babcock & Wilcox Engineering Honors Award.
