The following resources were researched by our team as a part of the Support the Acceleration of Virtual Education for K-12 (SAVE K-12) Initative. The initative was supported by the United Engineering Foundation. We update to this list to provide an ongoing resource for K-12 instructors as they continue to design their virtual curriculum.

PhET simulations

PhET Simulations allow for running simulations related to physical chemistry, math, earth science, and biology. There are over 100 free simulations that can be run, providing students with an engaging environment virtually. The simulations can be useful for college students, or can be used to design
Concord Consortium simulations

Concord Consortium offers free simulations for a K-12 audience, in subjects including chemistry, earth & space, engineering, life science, mathematics, and physics. Simulations are available for all levels, including elementary, middle, and high school, as well as higher education for more advanced
COMSOL

Comsol is a multiphysics simulator used by engineers or students at the higher education level. Free COMSOL tools are available, and can be a tool for increasing the interest of high school students to motivate them to pursue an engineering education.
Blackboard Collaborate Ultra

Blackboard Collaborate Ultra is a tool used to add files, applications, and share a virtual whiteboard to interact with students. The tool can be used in conjunction with virtual laboratory tools to further increase student engagement.
Labster

Labster is a virtual chemical laboratory to engage students, and allows for access to more than 200 stimulations, along with tools such as pre-read theory, faculty resources, teacher dashboards, automated grading, and more. Resources are available for the high school level.
Circuit Lab

Circuit Lab is an online circuit simulation tool, which can be used to teach concepts in electronics engineering at the high school level. The website features question and answer pages from the community, examples, and simple tools.
MERLOT virtual labs

MERLOT virtual labs is a virtual laboratory software with applications in biology, physics, chemistry, earth science, engineering, and math. Their website offers case studies to help implement the resources into a virtual curriculum and example lessons for the high school level.
Google Classroom

Google Classroom is an ecosystem of tools for educators to teach students online. Teachers can hold class, assign and accept assignments, make class announcements, and much more. It’s relatively easy to use and offers free and paid subscriptions.
Canvas

Canvas is an online learning management system (LMS) that includes built-in course construction and management tools such as Assignments, Discussions, Modules, Quizzes, and Pages. Additional features allow instructors to track student’s skill developments and achievements.
Sprocket

Sprocket is an online resource for educators to access full-year, project-based learning materials. Educators can use the materials as is or make adaptations, which can be shared with other teachers within the Sprocket community.
Nearpod

Nearpod helps teachers add interactive components to their lessons, including Quiz's, Polls, Videos, Collaborate Boards, and more.
