STEM Inclusion Study

In October of 2018, AIChE, among other engineering and science organizations, participated in the STEM Inclusion Study. The goal of the study was to investigate the experiences of professionals from across STEM disciplines and industries to identify potential mechanisms of disadvantage at the interpersonal, organizational, and professional levels. This is the published report by Dr. Erin Cech, U. Michigan, and Dr. Tom Waidzunas, Temple U.

The Science History Institute - Connections to AIChE

The Science Heritage Institute (SHI) has become more strongly connected to AIChE. There are several AIChE Fellows among the SHI leadership. SHI was formerly the Chemical Heritage Foundation founded by ACS and AIChE. The SHI facility in Philadelphia houses the natural repository for the history of chemistry, chemical engineering, and the life sciences, the Institute’s museum and Othmer Library with rapidly expanding collections, archives, and works readily available to the scientifically curious public and scientists alike.
