Upcoming ship fuel rules could lift oil prices
The International Maritime Organization's new rules requiring ships to use lower-sulfur fuel could boost oil prices by up to $4 per barrel when they take effect in two years, according to a survey of 13 analysts. "Of our $90-a-barrel Brent price forecast by early 2020, we'd argue that $5 to $10 a barrel will come from IMO 2020," says Martijn Rats, a Morgan Stanley analyst.
Tesla resumes Gigafactory 1 solar panel expansion
Tesla has resumed installation of clusters of solar panels at its Gigafactory 1 in Nevada. Canadian court reverses Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion approval
Canada's Federal Court of Appeal on Thursday rejected the federal approval of Kinder Morgan's Trans Mountain Pipeline expansion, saying the National Energy Board's environmental review wasn't thorough. "The unjustified exclusion of marine shipping from the scope of the project led to successive, unacceptable deficiencies in the board's report and recommendations," Judge Eleanor Dawson said.
