IEA: US to claim world's No. 1 oil producer status in 2023

The International Energy Agency predicts that US oil production will hit a record of 12.1 million barrels per day in 2023, making the US overtake Russia as the world's biggest oil producer. Global production is expected to increase by 6.4 million barrels per day by 2023, with the US accounting for nearly 60% of the new oil, while American oil exports are seen more than doubling to 4.9 million barrels per day.

US crude production surged to record high in Nov.

US crude oil production totaled 10.057 million barrels per day in November, breaking the record of 10.044 million barrels set in November 1970, according to the Energy Information Administration. However, US oil output likely declined in December to 9.949 million barrels per day, according to the first reading for the month.

Interior secretary: US won't allow oil drilling off N.J. coast

New Jersey lawmakers said they were assured in a meeting with US Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke that the Trump administration isn't going to permit offshore oil drilling along the state's coastline. They said the federal government may prohibit oil drilling along the entire Atlantic coast.
