EPA releases proposal on renewable fuel volume for 2019

The Environmental Protection Agency released its proposed rule for renewable fuel volume requirements for 2019 under the Renewable Fuel Standard program, which includes maintaining the ethanol-based fuel mandate of 15 billion gallons and adding 300 million gallons of biodiesel. The proposal did not address the issue of small refinery exemptions.

EIA revises US oil production forecast for 2019

The Energy Information Administration lifted its average US oil production forecast for 2019 by 40,000 barrels per day to 11.8 million barrels per day and expects average output in the fourth quarter of that year to surpass 12 million barrels per day. "Production growth in the United States, Brazil, Canada, and Russia will make up the majority of total global supply growth in 2019," said EIA Administrator Linda Capuano.

EPA sends CPP replacement proposal to White House for review

The Environmental Protection Agency this week submitted a rule to the White House Office of Management and Budget that would replace the Clean Power Plan.

Wheeler: EPA will continue deregulatory efforts

The Environmental Protection Agency will continue deregulatory efforts, including reducing the permitting process to six months or less, said acting Administrator Andrew Wheeler in an address to EPA staff.
