Observers speculate on next big Permian Basin consolidation

Observers are speculating on the next big consolidation in the Permian Basin following Concho Resources' deal to buy RSP Permian. Raymond James analyst John Freeman says likely targets could be Energen, Parsley Energy, Matador Resources, Laredo Petroleum, Centennial Resource Development and Jagged Peak Energy.

Report forecasts strong growth momentum for US LNG exports

US liquefied natural gas export terminals could see natural gas supply climb to 14.7 billion cubic feet per day within 10 years, helping increase exports to nearly 23 billion cubic feet per day after 2040 under the most conservative estimates, according to a report by consultancy ICF. The US exports 4 billion cubic feet of LNG per day, but that volume could more than double to almost 10 billion cubic feet per day next year.

BLM starts review process for drilling in ANWR

The Bureau of Land Management is beginning the environmental review process for drilling in Alaska's Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and will accept public comments over the next 60 days as well as hold four public meetings in Alaska.
