Brazos Midstream sells Permian pipeline assets for $1.75B

Texas-based Brazos Midstream has struck a deal to sell its Permian Basin pipeline assets to North Haven Infrastructure Partners II, an investment fund managed by Morgan Stanley, for $1.75 billion in cash. Brazos' assets are in Texas' Reeves, Ward and Pecos counties and include about 350 miles of oil and natural gas gathering pipelines, a natural gas processing complex and about 50,000 barrels of crude storage.

Total acquires US Gulf of Mexico assets from Cobalt

Total says it bought stakes in US Gulf of Mexico oil discoveries from Cobalt International Energy at a bankruptcy auction last month. The acquisitions increase Total's stake in the North Platte discovery to 60%, making Total the operator and giving the France-based company a minority stake in the Anchor discovery, operated by Chevron.

Trump signs memorandum to ease air pollution rule compliance

President Donald Trump signed a memorandum asking the Environmental Protection Agency to ease the requirements for complying with the National Ambient Air Quality Standards and meet new deadlines for reviewing state compliance plans. "This memorandum helps ensure that EPA carries out its core mission, while reducing regulatory burdens for domestic manufacturing," said Administrator Scott Pruitt.
