1.  ED-DIV AWARDS: CONGRATS TO THE 2020 AWARDEES & NOMINATE FOR 2021!

Thank you to all who attended our Education Division Virtual Awards Dinner on November 18th. Congratulations again to Stephanie Farrell for receiving the Award for Service to Chemical Engineering Education and Dan Burkey for receiving the Award for Innovation in Chemical Engineering Education. We also want to thank the award sponsors ChemStations and zyBooks.

We ended the evening with a networking bingo game - one square per person on a card like this one. Please start thinking about nominate a colleague for and Education Division Award in 2021 as well as attending next year's Awards Dinner.

2. AICHE 2021 ANNUAL MEETING PROGRAMMING

The Education Division would first like to thank all the session chairs and workshop facilitators for their significant efforts and contributions to the recent 2020 AIChE Annual Meeting.  The meeting would not have been a success without everyone’s support!

We have already started planning the programming for the next annual meeting.  Please complete this survey (EdDiv programming survey link) if you would like to be a session chair next year and/or would like to provide feedback regarding last month’s meeting.  If you are interested in the proposed program for next year’s meeting, please contact Daniel Lepek (Daniel.Lepek@cooper.edu) directly.

3. VIRTUAL COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE

Our Virtual Communities of Practice (VCPs) are wrapping up for 2020 and we want to thank our leaders as well as all of the participants. Some groups meet weekly and others biweekly with the goal of helping faculty be successful with their courses. We are always looking for new ideas and energetic volunteers to help lead: contact Matt Liberatore (Matthew.Liberatore@utoledo.edu) and/or Daniel Lepek (daniel.lepek@cooper.edu).

If you participated in an EdDiv VCP at any time since August, please take a few minutes to fill out our survey to help improve the VCPs in the future: VCP survey link.

4. CALL FOR PARTICIPATION: SURVEY

A team of researchers at Penn State invites you participate in an 5-10 minute survey on why individuals pursue and leave careers in Computer Science, Engineering and Math (CSEM). This study aims to add to the current knowledge base by asking individuals to explain their education and career choices in their own words (for more information see http://csempathways.wpengine.com/ )

You can take the survey here:  Penn CSEM Pathways survey link

Thank you in advance for your participation.
