Edith Heard

Edith Heard is Director General of the EMBL. She studied Natural Sciences specialising in Genetics at Cambridge University and then obtained her PhD from the Imperial Cancer Research Fund in London. After a postdoc at the Institut Pasteur in Paris, she set up her group in 2001 at the Institut Curie where she became Director of the Genetics and Developmental Biology Unit in 2010. Clifford Brangwynne

Cliff Brangwynne obtained B.S. in Materials Science from Carnegie Mellon University in 2001, and his PhD in Applied Physics in 2007 from Harvard University. He was a visiting fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems in Dresden, and was a Helen Hay Whitney Postdoctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Molecular Cell Biology and Genetics in Dresden. Aaron Streets

Aaron received a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a Bachelor of Arts in Art at UCLA. He completed his PhD in Applied Physics at Stanford with Dr. Stephen Quake. Aaron then went to Beijing, China as a Whitaker International Postdoctoral Fellow and a Ford postdoctoral fellow and worked with Dr. Yanyi Huang in the Biodynamic Optical Imaging Center (BIOPIC) at Peking University. Hariteja Nandimandalam is a graduate student in environmental engineering at Mississippi State University. He is originally from New Delhi, India.
