Ariel Miara

Dr. Ariel Miara is a Senior Research Associate at the Environmental Sciences Initiative and an Energy, Water and Environment Research Analyst at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Ariel leads research on the interaction between energy systems, water resources, the environment and policy. His modeling and analysis work focuses on assessing the co-dependent productivity of energy-water infrastructure and their performance under future conditions, including energy requirements for water delivery and water supplies for electricity generation. Amy E. Landis

Dr. Landis joined Mines in August 2017 as the first Presidential Faculty Fellow for Access, Attainment, and Diversity. Previously, she was a full professor at Clemson University from 2015 through 2017 as the Thomas F. Hash ’69 endowed chair in sustainable development. There, she served as Director for Clemson’s Institute for Sustainability, which brings together interdisciplinary research, education, and business for sustainability. Emmanuel Urquieta

Emmanuel Urquieta holds a medical degree from Anahuac University in Mexico City and a master of science in aerospace medicine from Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio.

Emmanuel completed a diploma in emergency medicine and then worked for Mexico City’s Department of Public Safety as a flight surgeon in the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service "Condors" where he participated in hundreds of rescue missions and aeromedical evacuation within the Mexico City metropolitan area. He holds a private pilot certificate and an open water scuba diver certificate.

Ronit Langer is a Scoville Fellow working at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace in their Technology and International Affairs Program. Her work focuses on the intersection of biotech and cyber security policy.

In addition, Ronit currently serves as the iGEM Ambassador Coordinator and  North American Ambassador. She has also represented iGEM as a delegate at the Biological Weapons Convention and the Geneva Disarmament Platform. Ronit has a bachelors from MIT in computer science. ...Read more
