Chemical Ventures Conference Drives Sustainable Innovation in Brooklyn and Beyond
The 2025 Chemical Ventures Conference (CVC 2025) was held on Aug. 12–13 in Brooklyn, NY. This was the meeting’s 7th occurrence, drawing a diverse audience that included engineers, scientists, investors, and business experts.
CVC 2025 focused on the future of sustainability in the chemical industry. Specifically, it highlighted discussions on the circularity, sustainability, and resiliency of chemicals and materials across their entire lifecycles. The conference featured several different sessions for start-up pitches, where companies seeking funding delivered short presentations on their technologies, including adhesives, battery technologies, biobased materials, electrocatalysis, heating and cooling, hydrogen, and more. There were also two sessions for reverse pitches, where large chemical companies, venture capital firms, and angel investing networks could summarize their funding services and investment criteria. Furthermore, both days of the conference designated ample time for networking, as one of the primary purposes of CVC 2025 was to connect investors with innovators.
The first day of the conference kicked off with opening remarks from Juan de Pablo, the Dean of the New York Univ. (NYU) Tandon School of Engineering.
